The red telephone box

Now, I’m going to talk about the red telephone box, one of the most interesting icons of UK. I choose this icon because is one of the symbols or icons more recognized in the world, we can see it in films, series, photos and all of us want to make us a photo with it.

However this red telephone box has a long history until now. The development of the telephone was in 1876 but the history of this public telephone does not begin until 1900 when the General Post Office was formed and the phone boxes began to increase in towns and cities. In the streets there were a lot of designs but the first public telephone appeared in 1921 and was called K1. Unfortunately the look of the K1 wasn't popular with the general public and in 1926 appeared the called K2, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert, but was very expensive and big to produce it.

Since then, there were a lot of designs and modification, before the definitive public telephone appeared in 1935, when the General Post Office asked to Sir Giles to create a new model and Sir Giles accepted creating the K6 red telephone box. It was perfect, had the good things of K1 and K3 and the solidness of the K2 with the elegance and small sizes that the GPO Company wanted.

It’s said that, although the first public telephone appeared in 1921, in 1926 the Royal Fine Arts Commission asked to Sir Giles a new design and since then the public telephones began to be red and created with cast iron. However, when the queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne in 1952 ordered that all the red telephone box of UK had the St. Edward’s Crown.

My favorite holidays

Thanksgiving is a traditional celebration of United States and Canada. In United States is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November and the second Monday of October in Canada. It is a celebration where the families and friends usually come together around a table to share a banquet to give thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. This celebration is very important in EEUU and they usually do many things to celebrate it. Some traditions are see in the morning the Grand Parade of the store Macy’s in New York which includes huge pumps, floats, bands of music, popular figures of characters for kids etc… Another tradition is the dinner because in Thanksgiving is very important bless the table with a prayer before the feast, giving thanks for the good things and the food. Also, is usually too that the President of United States says a speech to start the holiday of Thanksgiving.

The adverts's influence

Today, all of us are influenced by the commercials of TV and not all the commercials are good. I think that the TV can cause more problems than we can imagine because although we think that commercials of make up or brand name clothes don’t care and don’t influence us, it can do it.

Last year, I did a work about bulimia and anorexia and one of the facts that we talked was the commercials on TV, above all, the commercials about fashion because they use so skinny models and in spite of we can think that this can’t influence us, it can do it. I say that because I could prove that the most of the girls and man who suffer these diseases is because of the commercials on TV or in the magazines, internet etc...

However, I'm focusing in these diseases but nowadays all kind of commercials can influence us because we think that they say totally the truth but the truth is that the people who prepare or make these commercials the only thing that they want is sell their products and if they have to lie us, they will do it. For example, if we see a commercial of cleaning products they will try to make that you think that is the best cleaning product of the entire world and that is not the truth. I’m not saying that the cleaning product isn't good but it won’t “finish” with all kind of stains of your clothes or your house.

To conclude, I would like to say that I’m sure that almost everybody has been laid with the commercials of TV. We think that we are buying a fantastic product and after we can see that is an ordinary product like one more.

Intouchable

Hi everyone! Today I want to share with all of you what is my favourite film and why. This film is french and it was released in Spain in 2012. This film is one of the most beautiful and inspiring films that I've ever seen and besides the actors and actresses that participated in the film did it very well, you can feel each feeling that the main character feel.

The film is about Philippe, a quadriplegic millionaire who is interviewing candidates for the position of his carer. Then, Driss, an african, cuts the line of candidates to bring to Philippe a document and asks him to sign it to prove that he is searching for a job so he can receive the unemployment benefit. Philippe, decided to challenge him, offering the job during a month to gain experience helping him. Driss accept and moves to the Philippe's mansion.

I love this film because in spite of that it has some sad or dramatic moments, the most part of the film is very very hilarious. I think that this film has all the right ingredients to be the perfect film, comedy, drama and love. I totally recommend this film, you can't imagine how much fantastic is this film until you see it, so come on, go to your computer, tv or phone and watch it. They just want to have fun!

As all we know drinking and smoking is something negative for our bodies but when the young people like me or others of my age go out we forget this. I think that is very sad that the young people have to drink and smoke to spend a good time. Because of that I consider very important to give my opinion about it and propose some tips about how to stay healthy without bad habits.

Today, the modern teenagers have a serious problem especially with alcohol. However, the worst thing is that in spite of they know all the bad things that this can cause, they continue drinking and smoking. They possibly think that with alcohol they can make friends easier or be less shy but with it they can have a lot of diseases, affect one’s mood or even die because when you are drunk you do a lot of things without thinking.

As a young person who don’t have the necessity of drinking and smoking to spend a good time I’m going to give some tips about how to stay healthy. At first and the most important thing is leave the alcohol and the necessity of drinking when we go out. After this, we have to eat better, more salads and vegetables, fish and sometimes we can eat meat but it said that is less healthy than fish and at finally we have to do a lot of sport, whatever sport you prefer, swimming, football, basketball or just go out to running.

To conclude, I think that is important remember that your happiness only depend on you and you can have fun without alcohol. Go out with your friends, spend a good time and be healthy.

Nowadays, the environment is one of the most spoken topics in our society. The climate change, the air pollution, the energy problems and other pollution products are some of the problems in our world. Is well known that with the years we have evolved and with us, the thing that we have created like the transport that we use, the factories where some of us work every day etc... This is causing a bigger and bigger hole in the ozone layer.

Unfortunately, not all the people are concerned with the protection of the natural environment and not all the people do something to avoid this problem. I consider that the young people are a big part of this people because in this age is very strange see a young recycling or using a bike instead of the cars. Anyway, these actions depend of the education that their parents give them during their childhood.

In fact, my parents, since I was little, have taught me the importance of recycle or the importance of throw the rubbish to the paper bin instead of throw it on the floor. Because of that, all my family is totally concerned about the protection of the natural environment because we know the importance of saving this world and live in harmony with the nature and in a place where we can breathe fresh air.

So, as I have been concerned since I was little about the importance of saving this world, I think that recycle and avoid to throw the rubbish on the floor are actions very significant that although you think that you don’t do anything with that, you and more people doing these things makes a big action that can get a better world.

Are we well educated?

Hi, today I especially want to discuss or explain in detail if parents or teachers bring up well to the today boys and girls or not. At first, is well known that in this age that we are living is very difficult to educate boys and girls because with the technologies is very hard to focus their attention in the books. Nevertheless, that’s not impossible.

I consider that today parents and teachers try very hard to educate them but some teachers don’t do it very well because is very important motivate them if they want that the students study for exams because without motivation they won’t do it with interest. That is the main problem when the teachers and even parents try to raise their students or kids. Some teachers believe that if they order a lot of homework, the students will improve their marks and they will be better educated and the same happens with some parents when believe that they will do a good job if they obligate their children to do homework and study.

As a girl that has passed that stage of the life,  I think that the teachers have to interact more with their students, for example, put them some videos about the topic they are studying, or study it in a pleasant manner connecting the contents of the subject with things that they love or like so much. And about the parents, one thing that is very important is not compare their marks or their interest in the study with other friends that read more or have higher marks because the only thing they can get with that is that they children feel inferior than others and lose their interest in the study.

Another recommendation to educate better and better to the today boys and girls is to propose them things if they get high marks. For example, my parents said me when I was little: “If you study more and get higher marks, we will buy you a new doll”. I think that is a good way to motivate the students to study more because in that age they don’t know that they are studying for a better future and for a good job.

To conclude, the most important recommendation is the motivation because with it, students and even adults will do their obligations happier and with more interest.

Animal cruelty

The most of the people know the human cruelty with the animals but they dont do anything for avoid it. Last year, more than 50 per cent of animals, above all, dogs were battered and abused. The animal cruelty in the world is terrible, the people knock the animals without any reason and they don't matter if they animals suffer or not. This is a fact very unfair and sad because the animals don't do anything wrong to be hit. So, instead of harm the animals, the people should try to live in harmony with animals.

The technology

Nowadays, we are living in a technology society where if you don’t have any gadget you will be out of the society. This is a fact very sad but is the simple truth. Right now, we give a lot of importance to the phones or the laptops but above all, we give more and more importance to the social networks like instagram, snapchat or twitter.

In spite of that I said that the obsession with the technology is a sad fact, I have to admit that I’m totally obsessed with the technology and I’m sure that I can’t live without my phone or my laptop. It is more than a necessity, is a disease because I always need to go online or navigate websites to have a good day.

However, I know that this addiction is a big problem and I know too that this love for the technology has good things but bad things too. The other day, I was waiting the bus while I was playing a game in the phone when a woman sat next to me and begin talking to me about the problem of the young people with the technology. She said that the problem is in the phones because we are always talking with people by the phone or playing games in the phone and we can’t see and enjoy the wonderful things of the world and we lose a lot of things by waste our times with this gadget.

I consider that it is one of the main cons of the technology but I consider too that this new age where the technology is so important have pros too. For example, it can help you to find information about whatever you want because internet accumulate a lot of information, It can help you to keep in touch with your family if they are in another country by the social networks like Facebook and with the new gadgets you can talk with a person who is in the other part of the world only with the application called Skype.

So, it is well known that this new age of technology is a problem because we are losing the communication face to face but I think that it has good things too.

The prupose of education

Nowadays, the education is more like a privilege than a necessity as is the necessity of drink, breath or eat every day because not in all the countries is possible to have a good education. But, what is the purpose of education? It’s clear that the education has existed since ancient times but the purpose has always been the same and it is to form the children to get a better future, with a good job. However, this purpose has been forgotten because something like education that must to be free, in some countries like Spain, the education is beginning to be something that only a little group of people can have.

Is well known that the education is not the same in all the places and countries. Our education in Spain is not at all good, above all, since the crisis began but there are some countries where don’t have the same facilities that we have. Unfortunately, there are other countries where live in a higher level of poverty and because of that the most children can’t have a good education. That is a fact very sad and unfair because all of us have to have the same things and live in equality.

Is well known that right now, we are living in a society where the technology is very important in our lives, in fact, there are people that can’t live without some gadgets like the phone or the laptop. But, this obsession with the technology is in the education too and it can have good things and some bad things. The technology in education can help you, of course, to find information if you have to do a project and even, right now, people use it as books. I think that is one of the useful things of it. However, the bad thing is that the technologies, for example, the internet has stored a lot of information and if you don’t know what you are searching and what matter, internet is just picking out a random fact.

Nevertheless, there are many mistakes in education, above all, in the way to teach the students, either in school or high school or in the university. I consider that the worst mistakes of teacher is the motivation, there are many teachers that maybe have studied their career but  to teach students, they don’t are motivated for that. This causes a desmotivation to the students because the way of teaching can help the students for a better progress.

Overall, in spite of that our education system is very bad, there are other places that the education is something impossible like the third world where the parents obligate their children to leave the school and be married with a man who triple their age. So, in spite of the mistakes of teaching in some teachers and in the education in general, we have to be very thankful for our facilities like the technology and because we are living in a better world where the most of the people can follow their dreams and be whatever they want.

Man on the edge

This is the story of a men who was fired of his job and besides his girlfriend broke with him. These events cause that this man is now in the top of a building to commit suicide. Hundred of people are right now expectant about what is going to happen and other people are shouting to the man to avoid that he finally commit a suicide. While in the top of the building, the police and the director of the hotel are trying to save the men.

- We have to prepare a plan to avoid the suicide of the men! - say the police

- Yes, it could cause a bad reputation in my hotel - say the director of the hotel.

- Seriously? The important thing is to save the men! - say other police

- Ok, I have an idea!

While they are preparing the idea of one of the police, the depressed man is deciding what to do with his life. I have to continue with my life or finish with it only with one step? - thought the man.

- All the people are trying to save me but I dont know what to do, I dont have any aim in my life, no job and now, no wife - say the man -  Yeah, I will commit a suicide. Its the best decision.

However, just when the man is going to jump, he listen how the people is shouting because of something in the sky and when he look to the sky, he understood why the people was excited. There was a dragon flying in the sky and due to the shock of seeing a dragon, he made a bad step and he fell. Fortunately, the dragon save him before he died on the floor and because of that, since then, the dragon is an important icon in the town.

Zoos ?

Hi, today I want to give my opinion about zoos as good way of saving endangered species. I've never thought too much about it so I don't know what is my position but If I have to say if I'm for or against of it I say that I'm totally against of that.

I'm against because in spite of that the animals in zoo are well maintained, don't are alone because they live with another animals of their species and they eat well, the problem is that they are in cages and they can't do or move whatever they want. I think that the animals have to stay in liberty for run, fly, swim all they want because in zoos they are in places very small and they can't move because in the same small place there are another species.

I don't know why the people who work in the zoos have to capture the animals that live in peace only for money. The worst things that the zoos do are they use them to do shows for the people and teach them to realize awesome movements like the dolphins. However, the problem is that to get that the animals learn this movements the people who work in the zoo hit them. So the animals don’t do these movements because they want, but because the humans hit them only for money and the shows.

Today, there are many organisations against the zoos as a good way of saving endangered species and every day of the year try to stop these problems only for the liberty of the animals. But not are only the organisations who try to stop this, because Frank de la Jungla that is a presenter of a programme about animals, did a video the last year where explained his opinion about a programme about animals of telecinco where exploiting animals. I think that the opinion of this presenter was very real and showed all of us that all we see aren’t what it is.

So, I consider that if we can have our liberty, why the animals can’t be free?

Problem - Solution

Nowadays, the hunger is a problem very important and serious in the world. However, is important to stand out that the hunger is related with the poverty because the most of the people who don't have anything to eat is because they don't have money to buy the food. Right now, my country is in a difficult situation where the hunger and above all the poverty is a problem which the government has to solve as soon as possible. Nevertheless, this problem is more and more serious in other places in the world like the third world in Africa where the people continually dies. In fact, exactly the 99.9% of the people of Africa are poor and is because of that and the lack of the health care they die.

Solution by Amalia Hernández Rodriguez

One of the different solutions to that problem could come from other countries and their help. For example, charities has increased the standard of living in these countries but they can't do it all. Is important that all of us help to solve this problem but the solution is principally in the government because they have the power to give them all they need as human. However, it is very difficult to solve this problem because anybody did anything in the past and the problem became bigger and bigger and now is difficult to control.

Johnny Rotten vs Rostropovich

Johnny Rotten and Rostropovich are two musicians very different both in their styles and their music. About the clothes, Johnny Rotten use clothes less formal with holes and stains while Rostropovich use clothes more formal like shirts and ties. Rostropovich music is different from Johnny's music because the Johnny's style of music is harder than Rostropovich music which is more relaxed. The Johnny's group is bigger than the other musician Rostropovich who only need himself to play his instrument. Johnny's music combine the instruments played by other musician of his group and his voice. However, Rostropovich only need his instrument and don't participate any voices. Besides, Rostropovich seems more concentrated than Johnny who looks more relaxed and a bit angry.

What would you do if you won a lot money in the lottery?

Hi, today I’m going to talk about the money. In my life I’ve never been worried about the money and I’ve never thought if I have more or less money. I think that in my life there are things more important to be worried than the money because from my point of view the money is something that can give you a lot of problems. But, If I won a lot of money in the lottery I would do a lot of things with it.

At first, I would like to remove the mortgage of my parents and give some money to them because my family is one of the most important people of my life and if I won the lottery I would like that my parents live without  worries because of the money, the house, taxes and the bills.

In second place, I would like to travel around the world. I would like to travel to New York with my best friend Adriana because we want to go to this place since we were little, to London because I’m in love with this city and his culture, to all Asia because I’m very interested in their history, food, traditions and their people and to Greece because sincerely I love it.

And finally I would like to donate money to some organisations which represents the people who don’t have anything and need food, water, medicines etc... Because I’ve always asked me the same question: Why I have everything and them nothing? I think that is very unfair.

So I think that the money can answer to our problems but at the same time I prefer to have my family, friends and the people who love me than all the money of the world because the money over time can also have drawbacks.

The first person that I hate

Today, Im going to talk about a person that I hate. Is a girl and she was in my class in the last year of the high school. She is eighteen years old, is from another country and has a curly hair, big mouth and brown eyes. She think that is very nice and all the people love her. This girl that I can't see because make me feel angry and sometimes very bad with myself think that is a good person and doesn't make bad things or despise other people only for their aspect. I know that hate is a feeling very bad but I can't avoid it.
So, I've never hate anybody until this girl make me feel the hate.

Secondly, I recuon that the sentence "despise other people because of their aspect" doesn't hear well so that I would try to change it.
An Finally I believe that you can say "I have never hate anybody until this girl make me feel the hate" instead of "I have never hate anybody in my life but this girl has won the position of the person that I hate"
By all means, good work and you have get that I hate that girl too.

The Guernica

Hi everybody! Today I’m going to say all of us what Guernica make me feel. Well, this picture was painted by Picasso in 1937 to show the bad consequences of the Spanish Civil War where a lot of people died. This picture show the suffering of this people who lived that moment.

When I saw this picture I really felt the necessity of not remove my eyes of it because this picture is very rare and disturbing. I’ve never been very interested about the pictures of the museums but this really interested me. It is formed with some figures that don’t have any sense together, is very abstract. The Guernica make me feel very sad because I can feel all the suffering, very uncomfortable because the figures of the picture seems that they are shouting and this make me feel nervous and make me feel fear too because this picture seems like a scene from a horror movie and I hate this kinds of movies. 

However, I consider that this feelings and emotions are so good because it means that Picasso did very well his work because the aim of the pictures is get that the people feel a lot of emotions when see it.

Be yourself... love yourself

Hi! I'm from Spain but I live in Molina de Segura since 2000. I'm an average person with curly and naturally blond hair, green eyes and casual look who don't usually use a french manicure, dressing trousers or brand-name clothes. I'm friendly, reliable but a very shy person with unknown people so is difficult for me to make friends. I like go out with my friends, spend time with my family and watch series and films in my computer. In general, I consider myself a simple girl.

My favourite places to travel are Australia, New York and United Kingdom but I would like travel around the world. I hate liars, gossips and people who despise others because of their appearance so I'm totally disagree with the today canon of beauty. Right now, we give more importance to look gorgeous with a good skin and a slim figure and one of the problem of this situation or canon of beauty are the diseases of food like anorexia and bulimia where the need to look good make them to stop eating. 

In my opinion, the blame of this situation are in the magazines and clothes shops where use so skinny models as gorgeous and perfect womens and create clothes for very thin girls. This make that the others womens feel inferior.

This situation has to change and is changing, for example, a clothes shop called Mango has done another shop called "Violeta" for womens who need bigger sizes and a publicity campaign called "I'm no angel" which sell lingerie for womens with bigger sizes.

So I think is important to know that you have to love yourself because the inside is more important than the physic because you can have a good physic but if you are a bad person, the physic doesn't care.

The power of makeup

She isn't natural! She isnt herself! She use so much!...

This is something that we hear more and more by the masculine sex to the femenine because of our habit to use make up either to go out with our friends, to party or just to buy the bread and is for this that a lot of youtubers who record videos of beauty and fashion have created a movement in youtube called "The power of makeup". Today, I'm going to say my opinion about it.

Probably you are thinking, and ¿What do you want to get with this video? Well, this youtubers have wanted to show to the world that the makeup is just a way to express, explain that they enjoy makeup themself and put toguether colors and especially that they are the same person with or without makeup. 

I think that this topic is very interesting to comment but before, here you can see a video of this movement.

 

In my opinion, I consider that makeup don't make that you stop being yourself because I use makeup when I go out and I am not another person, no, Im the same person but with makeup. My personality doesn't change. However, there are a lot of girls that use makeup just to hide of herself, embarrassed of her imperfections and is for this that I think that this movement is very inspirational for teach the world and those girls that the makeup mustn't use to hide our imperfections, only because we want and like to use it.

To end my opinion, I think that is important to highlight the message of this kind of video, and is love yourself without makeup in the same way that you love with it.

Three steps to write better and easier

Everybody who has a blog have to confront to the famous white paper where you write whatever you want. There are a lot of times when we dont know what write in that paper or we have a topic but dont know how to develop it. Because of that, I have never had a blog because I dont know what write in it.

However, recently, I've learnt three steps or methods to follow to get a fantastic text. The three methods are called Brainstorming, Mapping and Freewriting.

At first, you have to choose a topic and then begin with the three steps or methods. In the first step you have to get some ideas of that topic. After that, you have to try to connect these ideas and finally develops all of that to get a great text

In my opinion, when I use this steps to write a text, I think that the step one is more useful than the others, because at the time I begin a text is necessary to know the ideas that I want to develop in my text, independently if are conected or not.

However, the most important thing at the time we write a text is leave your imagination to fly and write whatever you think and want.
